Senamiizu Village

A small village in Koga Prefecture built around an ancient temple that predates written record. The village was attacked and burned by Pelonian soldiers led by necromancers, who took many of the villagers as slaves and killed and resurrected the rest for the purpose of spreading terror and dividing the attention of any resistance. Old legends suggest that the temple calls to those with a weak mind to stay and tend to its rituals and it is for this reason that the many of the undead did not leave the village and instead revolve mindlessly around the temple, performing its rituals and tending its grounds.   Following the heroes exploration of Senamiizu village a Pokkabi Wayfarers Gate has been revealed at the heart of the temple and is likely the reason behind the legends revolving around settlers compulsions to mind the temple.

Infrastructure

Though little is left following the sacking of the village, the temple and the newly revealed Wayfarers Gate are intact. The temple inself is a cone roofed pagoda held aloft by four columns with wide open arched walls that is around 50ft tall and built out of the oil and metallic black stone and features the same unearthly smooth curves and elliptical lines exhibited elsewhere in Pokkabi construction.   Beneath it in the center of the temple where the alter once stood is the gate; an empty, precise ring of the same black stone that is 30ft tall at the top of a shallow ramp. By the southern entrance is a 7ft pedestal with a bank of strange stones and gems set into the top.

Guilds and Factions

Survivors Camp There is a small camp of survivors from Senamiizu village, hanging on tightly to the hope that they might be able to rebuild the town, though most have left to join Lady Satochi's militia or the refugees taken in by the monks at Cherry Blossom Temple. Those who remain live among a grove of knot-trees and are led by a mad old woman who is incredibly talkative.

History

Senamiizu was build centuries past and is a farming community, tending to the close by tiered rice fields. It has been noted that people who stop in the town often find themselves reluctant to leave, finding an unexpected abundance of tranquility in the strange little village. Still others find reason to stay tending to the temple which became a huge community project prior to the Pelonian invasion. The temple was repurposed for use by an order of monks who were looked after by the village and in turn tended to the temple. Even now, with the settlement destroyed, some of the villagers are reluctant to move on, and live in a camp outside the town walls, intent on rebuilding.

Architecture

Senamiizu has a symmetrical build with four soapstone outer walls, painted red the match the bark of the maples that once lined its streets. There are four exits to the village, with roads running directly between the north and south and the east and west gates, creating a crossroads at its center running through the temple. Before it was burned down the building were standard Hivokian, single story buildings of wood and thick translucent paper. In each quadrant of the village there still stands a fountain, fed through some marvel of undeground plumbing and with a large stone orb floating unsupported in the waters stream.

Geography

The Snake river runs behind its north and eastern side which is channeled to irrigate the cascading rice fields that unfold below the village on its south side. To the west a grove of knot-trees shelter the survivors of the town and further north of the grave lies the verdant foothills of the Whitecap Mountains and the lush vegetation of High Wind Forrest
