Clan Otori
Following their victory in the Succession Wars the Otori Clan were the rulers of Hivokia. This came to an end when Warlord Grisfin of Pelonia assassinated King Sadamu Otori and took the throne. King Otori's remains were treated with respect, interred in the Otori Clan Necropolis. King Otori died childless, plunging the Clan into a civil war, with one side gathering around Lady Mimi Otori, the former Kings sister, supported by King Grisfin; while others gravitate toward Nobuhira, Mimi and the former Kings uncle.

Traditionalist
The Otori Clan are traditionalists, revering the old ways, Gods and Spirits of Hivokia. They place a high value on personal honour and the Four Hivokian Ideals that it encompasses.
Elven
With a lineage that extends back to the Gods, the first family of the Clan live for around 1000 years which causes them to distain races with short lifespans, considering them shortsighted in their view to the future. Their longevity makes them both patient and ruthless. Their ancestral home on Hitaro is in the foothills of the mountains, camouflaged by forest and woodland, in the heart of nature which they revere.

The Otori are one of the Seven Noble Clans of Hivokia that have endured from the time of the Kingdoms founding. The Otoris rose to the throne following the Succession Wars, a period of civil war following the heirless death of King Ise Cedarbeard. During this period the Clan was led by Sadamu Otori, the oldest of three siblings of the first family of the Otori Clan. Sadamu was supported by his sister Mimi Otori but opposed by the youngest sister, Yulwei Otori.
Yulwei disagreed with her older brothers underhanded tactics and methods, leading a faction of the Otori Clan in rebellion. She was a thorn in Sadamus side for many years costing him many victories and destroying his partners trust in alliances. Eventually Sadamu defeated her, holding her prisoner until the end of the War. With his sister neatralised Sadamu could bring the full might of the Otori Clan to the battlefield.
With the help of the Satochi Clan, Sadamu Otori allied with or subjugated the other Noble Clans of Hivokia until his rule over the nation was absolute. King Otori ordered that Yulwei be exiled to the Devouring Sands, a desert land to the south of the Hivokian archipelago.
