Silverwood
Silverwood may be just a tree type, but its one that almost sparked a war. While not as durable as greatwood, or nowhere as easy to get as mundane wood, silverwood shines in the amount of magic it can absorb. This makes it incredible for staves and staffs, or handles for magical weapons. Its also perfect for some parts of in artifice and magitek and that is why when Silvico Company, a gnomic company started growing them, conflict flared. It is unknown how they even got silverwood saplings, whether they stole it from the elves or if they got from the deep woods in southern Limrim peninsula. Still the elves demanded they handed over the wood and when they didn't the The Crimson Order came. Silvico had hired a mercenary company of a dozen experienced adventures, one survived. Its rumored that there where five of the crimson order, and two of them fell but the empire is silent... So while silverwood may be used a wood, its one that brought us the closest to a second elven war we have been- Isodors Prodomos, Dwarven researcher
