Vuian

Anatomy

Vuian is a bush that blooms bright purple flowers with seven pointed petals. Each blossom is roughly an inch in diameter. The Vuian's leaves are dark green, marquise-shaped, each about two inches long and half an inch wide, with smooth edges. The bush itself only grows about two feet tall.

Growth Rate & Stages

It takes a vuian bush about two days to root, and afterward about a year to grow to its full size. It can start blooming as soon as it's gone to root. Vuian blooms for three months in the spring and the fall, and afterward bears small, dark red berries. These only last about a month before they become over-ripe and fall off. The bush then lies dormant for about two months before repeating the cycle.

Vuian grows in tropical and sub-tropical climates and thrives in partial sunlight.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Vuian has an array of uses, mainly of the medicinal variety. The brown root can be pressed into an orange extract for soothing anxiety. The blossom can be pressed into a bright red extract for soothing depression, and it's said that just walking into a room of vuian can lift someone's mood. The berries have an unappealing, sharp flavor, but are sometimes baked into sweeter things for contrasting flavor. The berries are also eaten by local wildlife: in particular, pigs and dragons.
