The Aarakocra originate from remote and secluded locations across the world. Within their species, two distinct ethnicities have emerged, known as the Songbird Aarakocra and the Hunter Aarakocra, each with unique preferences and adaptations.
The Songbird Aarakocra are drawn to warmer climates, favoring regions of the southern continent where the sun's rays keep the land warm and clear. Their plumage is vibrant and blends well with the lush forests and flower fields of the sun-kissed south.
On the other hand, the Hunter Aarakocra thrive in colder environs, embracing the frigid winds and icy peaks with their resilient plumage and frost-resistant bodies. These hardy individuals can be found in the northern realms, where snow-capped mountains and frozen tundras dominate the landscape.
While the Aarakocra as a whole are known for their isolation and preference for remote areas, the geographical distribution between the Songbird and Hunter variants showcases their contrasting adaptations and habitat choices. It is within these distinct regions that the unique cultures and ways of life of the Aarakocra flourish, shaped by the environment they call home.

Due to their early independence and communal upbringing, Aarakocra often lack a strong bond with their birth parents. With numerous siblings sharing the same birth, their focus shifts towards building a collective rather than individual family connections.

Most Aarakocra are nomads and therefore don't typically hold high status within any particular city or country.

Like noted above, Aarakocra possess a natural inclination for exploration, to discover new things for themselves. Unlike many other races, they do not feel the same strong sense of familial ties that bind them to a specific place or community. Instead, Aarakocra embrace the thrill of finding their own path and venturing into uncharted territories, driven by their insatiable curiosity and desire for personal growth.

Innate Abilities

You have a flying speed as noted in the Species Stats. This speed changes based on whether you are wearing light or medium armor. You cannot use this ability while using heavy armor.
