The Decayed Heights

The mountain ridge separating the lands of The Kingdom of Man and the The United Hill Clans. The summit is called The "Gray Pinnacle", after the never-ending clouds that hang over it, with only the top poking through. These peaks are the home to many, among these manticores, harpies and even a lone dragon. This dragon deems themselves the lord of these peaks and demands passage and toll from all.
Short after The Arrival of the Kingdom of Man and the United Hill Clans the Hill-Dwarves split ways and ventured through the mountain pass now known as the "Path of Trade". This mountain road once was once made from pristine dwarven bricks, with shelters and Inns along the way.
The pass only saw use for about 20 years, after which the land north of the mountain was claimed and the roads where build allowing save passage between these two allies w/o having to risk these snowy peaks. Since the path has fallen in disrepair and the once often traversed road and the once luxurious Inns are home to civilized people no more as "others" have moved in. Making the treacherous path even more dangerous.
In recent weeks the beasts of the mountains have been spotted in the foothills and the the lands below, among these are many beasts, both hunters and hunted, and more exotic creatures, among which pegasi, and harpies.
