Yrauos Vampire Template

Humanoid or monstrosity killed by a Yrauos Bloodline vampire's Bite attack

The game statistics of a player character transformed into a Yrauos Vampire don't change, except that their Strength becomes 16 and Dexterity becomes 17 if it wasn't already higher. In addition, the character gains the vampire's damage resistances, condition immunities, darkvision, legendary actions, and non-weapon based actions. Attack and damage rolls for the vampire's attacks are based on Strength. The character's alignment becomes chaotic evil.   Damage Resistances.   Necrotic; Bludgeoning, Piercing, And Slashing From Nonmagical Weapons   Condition Immunities.   Charmed, exhaustion, poisoned, paralyzed, frightened   Darkvision 60 Ft.   Abilities.   Turn Defiance. The Yrauos and any Ghouls within 30 ft. of it have advantage on Saving Throws against Effects that turn Undead.   Spider Climb. The vampire can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.   Actions.   Multiattack. The Yrauos makes two claw attacks and one bite attack. One of these claw attacks can be used to grapple the enemy instead.   Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) slashing damage. If the target is a creature other than an Undead, it must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or be Paralyzed for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.   Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: (2d6 + 3) piercing damage plus 10 (1d6) necrotic damage. The target's hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage taken, and the vampire regains Hit Points equal to that amount. The reduction lasts until the target finishes a Long Rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0. A humanoid slain in this way and then buried in the ground rises the following night as a Ghoul under the vampire's control.   When a Yrauos vampire spawn transitions into a full vampire, they also gain the following:   Size. The vampire's size category increases by one.   Speed. The vampire's base movement speed is 50 ft or their base creature's movement speed, whichever is faster.   Natural Armor. The vampire gains Natural Armor +5, which stacks with the bonuses from worn armor.   Stat Increases. Their Strength becomes 23 and their Dexterity and Constitution scores become 18 if they aren't higher.   Darkvision 120 Ft.   Ravenous Rage. The Yrauos has no regard for friend or foe when it is hungry or injured (when it is lowered to under half health), it will tear apart and consume whatever may be within reach, doing so will take a round but will restore half of it’s hit points, the Yrauos must have a corpse or minion nearby to do this. If there is no nearby flesh to eat it begins moving at double its speed and viciously attacking the closest player with no regard for its own safety.   Legendary Resistance (3/day). If the vampire fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.   Misty Escape. When it drops to 0 Hit Points outside its Resting place, the vampire transforms into a cloud of mist (as in the Shapechanger trait) instead of Falling Unconscious, provided that it isn't in sunlight or running water. If it can't transform, it is destroyed. While it has 0 Hit Points in mist form, it can't revert to its vampire form, and it must reach its Resting place within 2 hours or be destroyed. Once in its Resting place, it reverts to its vampire form. It is then Paralyzed until it regains at least 1 hit point. After spending 1 hour in its Resting place with 0 Hit Points, it regains 1 hit point.   Feast of Blood (1/day). The Yrauos can let out a blood piercing howl that brings its ghoul minions running to join the fight, on its next turn (3d6 ghouls) arrive hungry and ready to feast.   Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 24 (4d8 + 6) piercing damage plus 10 (3d6) necrotic damage. The target's hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage taken, and the vampire regains Hit Points equal to that amount. The reduction lasts until the target finishes a Long Rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0. A humanoid slain in this way and then buried in the ground rises the following night as a Yrauos Spawn under the vampire's control. This ability replaces the Yrauos Spawn's Bite ability.   Legendary Actions.   Vampire can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. Vampire regains spent legendary actions at the start of their turn.   Bite (costs 2 actions). The vampire makes one bite attack.   Claw. The vampire makes one claw attack.   Move. The vampire moves up to its speed without provoking opportunity attacks.   See the following example creatures:   Yrauos Vampire   Yrauos Vampire Spawn
