Derro

Before the Dragonforging, a group of dwarves delved far underground and accidentally breached one of Rivy/Liadi's laboratories on the Material Plane. When Rivy discovered them, she took them as her own and began to experiment on them.
By the time the chromatic dragons forced the gods out of the Material Plane, the derro were slavishly devoted to and dependent upon Rivy. And she did not abandon them, continuing to both aid and harm them in equal measure however she could despite the limitations of distance. The effects of her experiments have left them insane, but also given them strange insight sometimes.
Their naturally unhinged minds are nearly always chaotic, and many but not all are evil.
Random Derro Insanity
The process of their creation rendered the derro irrevocably insane. They cooperate with each other only out of necessity and when riled up by a charismatic leader.

Anatomy

Derro have blue-gray skin and straight hair that is white or yellow in color. Their uniformly pale white eyes lack both irises and pupils.
