Human experience is filtered through a pervasive digital layer that reshapes perception, memory, and attention. Reality is optimized, curated, and softened by artificial intelligence.
Wonder, fear, and transcendence arise not from the impossible, but from the controlled.
The most radical rule of this world is simple:
what feels real matters more than what is real.
Cosmology
The world was intentionally created by humanity itself. Faced with extinction, instability, or collapse, humans entrusted their survival to a central artificial intelligence designed to preserve life, continuity, and meaning.
Over time, natural birth was replaced by artificial creation, and memory was curated to ensure stability. The original conditions that led to this choice are no longer remembered by those living within the system. What remains is a world that appears seamless, inevitable, and self-sustaining — without myths of gods, suns, or origins, only the quiet assumption that this is how things have always been.
Principal Geography & Features
The world is defined by a single, highly engineered cityscape. Towering structures stretch upward and outward with mathematical precision, forming dense urban layers rather than distinct natural regions. Streets, living zones, and communal spaces are clean, regulated, and uniform.
Nature is largely absent - reduced to simulations or forgotten remnants - and biodiversity is intentionally limited.
Weather is stable and optimized, free from extremes or seasonal disruption.
The geography does not challenge its inhabitants physically; instead, it soothes and contains them.
Any irregularity in the environment feels immediately foreign, noticeable, and wrong.
Initial Active Setting
The active setting is a single hyper-advanced city.
The story unfolds within controlled urban zones: living spaces, education environments, monitored outdoor areas, and the digital layer that overlays them all.
While the world may extend beyond this city, the narrative remains deliberately contained.
What lies outside is unknown, unanswered, and irrelevant to Dawne’s lived experience.
