Vilu
Vilu (born ██████ ████████████) is an air genasi hailing from Bryn Shander. Originally they are from Dougan’s Hole, but due to certain circumstances have left their former home. In Bryn Shander they are well known among the guardsmen, and have spent many a night in local jail. Their criminal offenses include various petty crimes such as pickpocketing, burglary and preventing the guardsmen from doing their work.
In Marpenoth 1488 Vilu entered a pact with a mysterious entity and undertook a ritual to bind their fates together. Due to not being sound of mind while entering the pact, Vilu does not know the details of their pact, nor who their patron is. Ever since entering the pact Vilu has carried a a tiny black crystal sword on a necklace. Dawnseeker Salvia Dantalion has asked their and their friends' help to find a way to stop the Everlasting Rime that the the Frostmaiden herself is tormenting the Icewind Dale with.
Physically, Vilu is easy to spot. They are on the slightly taller side and have a slender build. Their white hair is cut short and a part of it is always braided. The hair seems to be moving on a gentle breeze at all times, even indoors where there is no draft. Vilu has pale blue skin and a somewhat bloodless complexion. Their fingers and toes are permanently darkened.
Interestingly, after consuming a raw peryton heart, Vilu's shadow seems to have grown deer-like antlers despite Vilu themself not having any physically.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Physically, Vilu is easy to spot. They are on the slightly taller side and have a slender build. Their white hair is cut short and a part of it is always braided. The hair seems to be moving on a gentle breeze at all times, even indoors where there is no draft. Vilu has pale blue skin and a somewhat bloodless complexion. Their fingers and toes are permanently darkened.

Body Features
Vilu has pierced ears and wears simple earrings carved from bone.
They have a distinct, rough scar on their left arm.
Facial Features
Vilu has big, pink eyes, that seem to swallow all light around them. Their chin is pointy and bony. Their nose is aquiline, and they have a beauty mark near the tip.
Vilu's canines are slightly sharp, but this is not evident unless they smile widely.
Identifying Characteristics
Vilu tends to stick out whether they want it or not. Could be their natural charisma, or just general weirdness that makes them easy to notice. They are clearly marked by their elemental heritage, as wind seems to follow them wherever they go.
Physical quirks
Vilu's fingers and toes are darkened, as if they have been dangerously frostbitten at some point. They do function normally, although are always cold to the touch.
Special abilities
As an air genasi, Vilu can hold their breath indefinitely, and levitate for brief moments.
Apparel & Accessories
Vilu prefers wearing linen and wool, and their clothes are distinct with skillfull embroidery. They do the embroidery themself, and take pride in their handiwork. They like to be covered from neck to wrists, although are known to more or less tastefully reveal skin through cuts in chest or back. In the eternal winter, such revealing cuts are a thing of the past, and nowadays Vilu is very proper with how they keep all the buttons dutifully buttoned up.
Vilu wears a necklace with a black crystal sword that they keep close to their heart. The sword seems to be radiating warmth against their skin. On the same chain Vilu has hung the key to their childhood home.

Personal history
Vilu was born in Dougan's Hole with their twin brother during summer of 1466. The family already had a daughter by the time the twins were born. Fishers by trade, the lake and its bounties were always a part of the kids' life. They all learnt to carve scrimshaws out of fish bones, some more skilled in craft than others. Vilu was never interested in fishing, and took up other crafts instead, becoming a seamstress.
In Marpenoth 15, 1488, Vilu left their former life and traveled to Bryn Shander to start anew.
Gender Identity
Vilu presented more femininely in Dougan's Hole, but after leaving, they have preferred more neutral presentation and pronouns. They don't see themself as the same person who left town, and a change both mental and physical has enforced this separation from their past.
Sexuality
There is not much to do in a small town like Dougan's Hole, so like many of their peers, Vilu has been involved with girls and boys alike.
Education
Vilu has received basic education from traveling clerics teaching the town's children, and knows how to read and write and do math. They didn't have a chance to get further education, and never really desired that, content to live a simple life as a seamstress of a small town.
Employment
Vilu used to work as a seamstress, and does sometimes still offer their services. Most recently they have worked in Geldenstag's Rest in Bryn Shander. Their other sources of income were petty crime and being an informant to Guardsman Rowan.
Intellectual Characteristics
As a Ten Towns local, Vilu is knowledgeable about local customs and history, and given that their family were fishers, they are especially familiar with the lifestyle of those living off the lakes.
Due to elemental heritage and family history, Vilu has some knowledge about summoning spells and rituals.
Morality & Philosophy
Vilu has grown callous, and isn't the first to help those in need; after all, there was no one to help them when they needed it the most. Still, Vilu is known to play a hero sometimes, even if they don't see themself as one.
Their morals are deeply grey, and they have no qualms of employing riskier methods or gambling with potentially dangerous choices.

Motivation
Vilu has sacrificed their morals in order to survive, and sees this as a necessary price to pay. They see themself as someone who is wicked to the core, and desperately try to convince themself that they don't mind it.
Virtues & Personality perks
Vilu tends to keep their word, if they have given it with honest intentions and not to deceive. This is both in good and in bad.
They are slow to let people in, but once they have warmed up, they are a loyal friend and protective of those they hold close. Even to those they dislike they are at least honest, and don't bother to hide it.

Vilu is petty and spiteful, holding onto grudges. They are also not willing to share their things, fiercely protective of their belongings.
Hygiene
Vilu tries to keep clean and take care of their hygiene, but it is difficult when you don't have a permanent residence. They try to at least keep their clothes clean and wrinkleless.

Contacts & Relations
Due to their brushes with the city's underbelly, Vilu is very familiar with the local guardsmen.
Through Guardsman Rowan, Vilu has come contacts in a certain organization, and has received names of friends in neighboring towns.
Religious Views
Vilu comes from a family of fishers, so they are familiar with customs relating to the waters, and have worshipped gods of the storms all their life. After the winter became eternal, they adopted the worship of the Frostmaiden along with their fellow townspeople. On Marpenoth 15, Vilu was picked as the next sacrifice to be killed in Auril's name.
Due to being sacrificed, Vilu has displayed antagonistic views towards the divine. They seem to have given up on the gods, but make a point in saying the gods gave up on them first. They are conscious of the fact that they have died once, and carry the remnants of death in them.
Vilu doesn't believe their patron to be a god, but they are clearly a powerful entity, and so if Vilu had to choose something to worship, the patron would be the obvious choice.
Social Aptitude
Despite their natural charisma, Vilu has a tendency to make things appear more suspicious than they are, and is excellent at making things worse by talking. They are a gifted liar, and utilize their skills of deception liberally.
Hobbies & Pets
Vilu has a mouse companion called Plotter, who has recently been promoted to their familiar. Plotter has been the light in Vilu's life during their darkest time and been their crutch during the lowest lows, so it's no wonder Vilu is willing to risk it all to keep their companion safe.
As per their former occupation, Vilu is known to embroider their belongings as a way to pass the time.

Wealth & Financial state
Having left Dougan's Hole wearing only a wedding dress, most of Vilu's belongings are things they have picked up along the way. They are trying to amass wealth while gathering useful things for future endeavors, and thus are always lacking money.
Vilu is a warlock of a mysterious patron who is out adventuring to possibly end the eternal winter plaguing the Icewind Dale. They are shifty and clearly well acquainted with the dark side of the law.
