Hyperdyne Corporation

Hyperdyne Systems, later known as Hyperdyne Corporation, was a corporation manufacturing synthetics that pioneered the development of Synthetic technology in the early 22nd century and also cybernetic prosthetics.   In the middle of the 22nd century they also began to design weapons and became the main weapon designer for the Union of Progressive Peoples after the Hyades Revolt.   Their products included the 341-B model of androids (designed by one of their lead designer Michael Bishop and 120-A/2. Hyperdyne did not manufacture any of their weapon designs; instead of shipping manufactured weapons that would likely take months to reach their customers, they sent fabrication blueprints and ballistics software over FTL hyperstate to allow the receiver to "print" them using local maintenance-part fabricators.

Synthetic Designer

As in 2120 the original Weyland-Yutani Corporation patent on synthetics expires, Hyperdyne rushed to create their own synthetics and was the first manufacturer to offer synthetic models with a non-standardized appearance for the purpose of clandestine operations. However, one of their first models, the 120-A/2, was a total fiasco.   As it borrowed much of early Weyland David 7 and 8 model synaptic algorithms, the androids had many neurotic and unstable behaviors and lead to many problems that forced the 120-A/2 to be recalled and refurbished by the end of the decade. Trying to avoid lawsuits concerning the 120-A/2, Hyperdyne seeking protection relocated to Alexandria in the Central Space Consortium and continued to perfect their more-human-than-human approach of the synthetic.   In 2147, after the Three World Empire asked Hyperdyne to submit to an ICC investigation concerning the 120-A/2 synthetics series, the company declare its independence from the 3WE and as the latter was reluctant to ravage this jewel world in a civil war, they declined to retaliate.

Cyberdyne Systems

Cyberdyne initially began as a manufacturing corporation at 18144 El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, California.   Founded in the early 1980s, its products were possibly computers or processors, as well as some sort of smaller parts producer for larger manufacturers of high tech equipment. As of 1984, the small company owned a factory.   After studying the wreckage of the T-800, Cyberdyne reverse engineered its CPU and created a powerful new microprocessor for weapons systems, becoming a major contractor for the US military.   Cyberdyne eventually developed Skynet, a network of supercomputers that employed artificial intelligence in order to replace human beings as commercial and military aircraft pilots, and for the control of other military systems, including nuclear missiles.   Primary headquarters and R&D facility destroyed during a bombing on June 9, 1995. This event halted the development of Skynet. After the destruction of their primary research facility, Cyberdyne stock fell dramatically and the company was purchased by their primary competitor.
