At full force, the peak Silver Companions could muster a total of 15.000 heavy troops with another 12.000 auxiliary troops, ranging from skirmishers and slingers.

Equipment

The Companions is a very self suficient armada, capable of self sustaning during campaigns. Since the rank of auxiliars, the troops learn survival methods and the use of healing roots, such capabilities are honed as time pas by, making every trooper capable of foraging, administrating basic healing practices, and mantaining his own equipment. Of course, is not normal for the troopers to forage, thats a taks only for the auxiliars, but when the time demands it...

Weaponry

The Silver Companions utilize a short sword called Kopesh in battle, and phallanx-like armor. All of it is coated in silver for ornamental purposes. Besides they weapons, in combat they use all what they have learned in falconry, figthing at the same time with their silver winged companion, using him to distracting the enemies and slashing their eyes while they close the gap and attack.

Structure

The supreme commander and overseer of the Silver Companions is called, of course, Th Grea Companion, brother of all. He must be more cunning in finances than in the battlefield because he is the one who oversees the payment and hiring of troops all around the world for all divisions of the Companions.
Each figthing unit is 16 mens long and 8 men deep, making each unit of 128, having one comanding oficer for each unit. Finally, in the batlefield two figthing units were fused to make a Company, comanded by two officers, one by each day.
In the heat of the battle, the officers count with three auxiliars to help him to rely and receibe mesages across the battlefield. One with a horse to carry on messages, another with a trumpet to sound alarms and such, and another carring the personal banner of the unit.

Tactics

They are first and foremost shocktroppers, reliying on shock and damage to overhelm troops. They relie on their superior training and weaponry to achieve this. Using only short swords they count on the falcons and skirmishers to harass more mobile troops, quiclky closing the gap between them to attack. Altough they are heavy troops, they are quite mobile, facilitating this task. Each companion protects the one on the rigth, figthing like a single line of troops, and when all hell breaks lose they break formation and let the troops in the lines behind to figth for them, a tactic used by the roman legions. thanks to the falcons they are heavy troops that are not weak to misile units, and thank to their higher than average speed for armored troops, they are not as weak against their normal counters as one would believe. The falcons scare and blind horses, so they are not a counter to the companions. The only thing that can counter them is, of course, a phallanx. Or a magician. Besides, horse archers are too fast for the falcons to attack, and the heavy knigths of the Edekhan Empire are too heavy armoder for the falcons and the kopesh to penetrate.

Training

The Silver Companions are a sworn brotherhood, a vow made for life. As such, one who is born a companion cannot be other thing. They are profesional troops in its entierty, not a single one knows the civilian life. Since the moment one is drafted into the auxiliary corp and later begins their training with the falcon, a silver companion is no more than a silver companion, training forever and figthing a war someplace else. There is no short of wars for the companions now in the dark times.

Logistics

Auxilia

The company enlist the helpo of all its members. First, at the age of sixteen, the youngs are enlisted as auxiliars, training as skirmishers, foragers and explorers. Of course that they do much more than just that, but in the battlefield thats the only things they do. The Silver Companions dosnt have any more external help than that.

Recruitment

The Silver Companions are a mercenary company that takes pride in the brotherhood and honor that surrounds them, so every son of a member must be placed in the army to train almost since birth. Women are forbid to enter the brotherhood.
