Edekhans

Basic Information

Biological Traits

From a certain distance, the Edekhans are indistinguishable from humans. But up close they displace pointed ears and cat-like eyes. The reasons are unknown, but almost all races consider them absurdly beautiful, even if it contradicts their preferences. Some people think that this is a latent psychic abilitie, but nothing has sugested this, being only a rumor. But, nevertheless their beauty makes them diferent from humans. Their faces are beautiful, maybe too beautiful. Some described their faces as near human, like if something inside you tells you to look away, maybe in fear or in shame. Their traits are human like in aperance, but are nothing like it on the inside. They are misterious and actually taller than humans. The precense of an edekhan in a group of humans is heavy felted always.

Additional Information

Social Structure

The have a feudal sistem of lordship, in wich a king is apointed by the current god-emperor to oversee an imperial province. The feudal system helps them maintain a great deal of power over the land mostly because by definition there is no Edekhan alive who is not part of the nobility. All of them are related to the god-emperor in some way, no matter how faintly. So they serve as Ladies and lords, knigths, baron, count, duke, king, and then emperor, in that order. They dont have a state religion because they see themselfs as demi gods at a minimun. So they employ Warlocks to replace them.   They are very tolerant of other religions, not paying much atention to them when their subjects are praying to some foreing whore wearing storms to cover her titts. Sometimes they charge taxes on to religion, and sometimes they don't charge anything for it, but never punish it.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Nine mayor noble houses remain now, each one with countless minor houses at their comand. They name their children with the name of their house as lastname. For example, Lionel of House Fostonway, Ragnar of House Eritrea, and so on.

Beauty Ideals

The only beauty ideal is to be yourself, befitting a race of sociopaths they believe each one to be the very best at what they do. The same with beauty, so they dont have standards because all of them regards themselves as the most beautiful person in the world.

Gender Ideals

They dont have gender ideals, one must do what it must to have power. So they dont really care who holds it, unless is not me.

Courtship Ideals

They only marry for love. Because they see oneself as the center of all, they see the immediate family as an extention of that. Loving a sister is loving yourself because she looks like you, and you see yourself on her.   Besides, they are not allowed to marry into other noble families, so they cannot marry to procure an alliance, so the marriage is optional, and someone who does not marry is not frowned upon.

Relationship Ideals

Someone who can help you better yourself and enrichen your life is always the best choice. There is no political reason to marry, so they can freely marry who they want, and fuck all the people who they want while they are married, because love is love, and the ecstasy of orgasm cannot be denied never.

Average Technological Level

Late middle ages.

Common Etiquette Rules

They treat the other races as they were beneath them, having them as slaves in their homeland. When far from home, they treat good other just as a mere formality, they are actually sociopaths in nature, and a little bit chaotic, but they dont see the problem in having allies, tools near you. Other people are useful when they are not pointing a sword to you. They see themselfs as the masters of the universe, and as such, diplomacy with them is hard, but on a personal level is easy.

Common Dress Code

They always want to show of the riches of their house, so for example, a noble house with a lot of gold mines will always use gold ornaments and garments, another house who trades in furs will use a lot of them to adorne themselfs, and so on and so on. No matter what, they always use the most expensive thing that they can have.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Their cuture is one of slavery and war.   Since the conquest of Ares, the Edekhans had sistematically enslaved millions to mantain their realms. They use a lot of slave work force to achieve their marvelous architechtonical achievements.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

They see other races as beneath them, and they see themselfs as the indisputable masters of the universe. They see other people as tools for achieving their goals, and have no empathy themselfs for the surfering of others. They are a proud race that had achieve great things on the back of millions and millions, organizing mass genocide to achieve their goals.   They marry their close relatives to "not breed monsters", the oposite of humans.   And they use a twisted form of magic to have more power. Blood magic that uses the life force of other to further oneself, expanding the normal senses to tap into a chaotic force that permeates the earth, with it, they enslave the elementals that live on the planet, forcing them to follow their orders. With it, they created the Warlocks, the oathbreakers of the old pacts.

Common Taboos

Marring outside the family   Feeling empaty for other races   Not looking for riches and power   Greenseers and empaths are frowned upon.

History

Their origins are unknown, relying on the tale of Ares, the first God-Emperor to replace writen history. Before the advent of Ares, the Edekhans were a corrupted race that gave birth to monsters, because their genepool was so diferent between each individual that mutants started to apear, deformed victims of corruption and interacial mixing. So they vanish them to a region called "valley of knigths".   The Edekhans were the favored children of a precursor race, being the first children of three: Them, minotaurs, and the Elesh. The precursor race was known as the Thuleyans.   And when Ares came the whole fabric of Edekhan society changed forever. He institucionalized a way to stop the birth of unstable mutants. First, the marriages would be only with close relatives, to stop the mixing of the race and keeping it away from harmfull mutations.   Later, he created the blazons and heraldry traditions, to unit all the culture in one spot and help it endure the times of war and famines, of mass genocide.   when he conquered other kingdoms and received countless titles in his honor, he combined them all into the greatest tittle of them all, to rule all the known world without paying atention to the cultures of those who are beneath him, only the crown over his head: God-Emperor, king of kings.   After that, he married his favorite niece and had eleven sons. His sons would continue his kingdom, fracturing later when two parts of the family clashed with each other, the sons and grandsons of Ares against his brothers and offspring. They avoided civil war and split the kingdom into two, one falling from grace after 200 years and the other now a mere fractiong of its former self.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

As a slave army they use the hibrids that they produce with male or female humans. Every abled bodie Edekhan, man or woman, must at give to the state at least five soldiers to figth the wars. The most common practice is the rape of prisioners, house slaves and others. But, most of the time, the slaves comply to the wishes of the masters out of sheer desperation, others more practical consider an honor bearing the bastard children of nobility.   Besides humanity, they can reproduce with the minotaurs, producing a more slender and taller version of a minotaur, who lacks the strength (but stills surpaces the strength of humans) but compensates it with dexterity and coordination. For that, they are used as royal guards for the family.
