Brother Westen Virgil Caprus (a.k.a. Wes)
Westen is one of the seven who encountered Indrid Cold in the forest near Oak Point. Despite being bestowed with the same abilities as the others, he is a devout pacifist and avoids resorting to violence under nearly all circumstances. Westen is deeply religious and has an inquisitive mind for world history.

Personal history
Only child of the village's Reverend, Westen was even at a young age deeply faithful to the Church of the Sacred Earth. He was skilled reader when he was still a young boy, being taught to read scripture by his father. It wasn't long before he became the village bookworm, reading any and all books he could get his hands on but also taught the other children his age to read as well.
Despite being a good teacher, Westen was shy around most other kids and was encouraged by his father to befriend Maddox who was a bigger introvert than he was. Both being inquisitive and wise beyond their years, they became fast friends despite being on the polar opposite ends regarding their religious beliefs.
