His Greatness / The Great King Azazel Mirane
This contains the story of King Azazel's life and reign over the country Mojhorro, thousands of years ago from the day he was born until he met his wife, where the (chronologically) first series in this universe occurs.

Trigger Warnings for this article include the following:
- mentions of slavery and slave camps
- this character is an abuser, though that isn't explained in this article
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Azazel is a well-trained warrior with an overall healthy body, and he doesn't have any chronic conditions of any sort.
Body Features
Azazel has the body of a typical Mojhorran warrior: lots of muscle in the shoulder and arm areas with less muscle in his legs due to wielding his weapon for several hours a day. His skin is a pale gray color, meant to look like he just crawled out of his casket, and his hands are cracked from the callouses he's built while wielding his sword throughout his life.
Facial Features
Azazel has a small, thin nose that comes to a sharp point, and large ears that also come to a sharp point, both of which are common (not inherent) traits of the Elven Fae in Mojhorro. His eyes are solid black, including the whites, due to the amount of Forbidden Magic he uses.
His lips are thin and pale, almost an exact match to his skin tone, and his cheeks are well rounded. He has scowl lines across his forehead from all the frowning he does in his day to day life, and his black hair has spots of white in them, despite the fact that it's thinning from the stress of running his Empire.
Identifying Characteristics
- Azazel has a scar in the corner of his eyes.
- He's missing part of his right earlobe due to a fight he got in with a shifter he was friends with when he was a teenager.
- He also has a birth mark on his left shoulder.
Special abilities
Azazel has many special abilities, although the most public one is his ability to draw shadows around him and trap people within their or other's shadows, which is called Dark Mysticism (name subject to change at a later date).
Besides this ability, Azazel is also able to hop between people's dreams, using them to not only manipulate them, but also to spread messages to people, although he doesn't advertise his ability to do this to anyone.
Apparel & Accessories
Azazel often wears gold or red colors, which represent his family and their country. He's well known for always being adorned in gold jewelry, including the large crown he wears to all of his meetings.
When he's alone in his office, Azazel won't be found wearing his full regalia, although only his niece is aware of that, seeing as all other entrants are required to knock and wait for a response before coming in, giving him time to put on his cloak and crown both.

Personal history
TW: Abuse and Slavery mentioned here
Azazel was born as the younger twin brother to Calypso, who, as the eldest child of the King and Queen, was destined to be the Queen of Mojhorro upon their parents' abdication.
As children, Azazel could not have found a better friend or built a closer relationship than the one he had with his sister, whom he loved more than any of his other - many - friends or his remaining family. Calypso, who Azazel affectionately called Callie throughout their childhood, was the one person who Azazel could trust with anything, but she was also the only thing in the way of him becoming King, a desire he'd had for longer than he could remember.
Upon finding out that Calypso wished to dismantle the system of slavery their kingdom had been born and bred on, Azazel saw an opportunity to take the throne from his sister, and he did.
Warning his parents that his older sister was planning to commit treason when she received her crown, Azazel convinced them to have her locked away in the dungeons and abdicate soon after, leaving him to give his sister the punishment she deserved.
When his parents abdicated mere days later, Azazel was given the crown instead of his sister, and he sentenced Calypso to a lifetime spent in the Caves of Butirrea, a slave camp near the palace, but he ordered that she never have a hand laid on her, though he never went to the caves to check on his sister.
Years later, Azazel staged a visit to all of the slave camps when he heard about the whispers of an uproar, and when the slaves in Butirrea attacked, he had them all slaughtered, with the exception of two: a little girl who looked eerily similar to his sister, and a boy who looked to be protecting the girl with his life.
When Azazel realized this little girl was his niece, he took both her and the boy away from the mines, and he raised his niece as though she was his own daughter, teaching her everything she would need to know to rule the country when he died.
The little boy was made to be something of a servant to his niece, though any disrespect to the Great King was harshly punished and instantly healed so that his niece would never find out.
Years later, his niece and fiancee would plan to overthrow his kingdom together, leading to the end of his reign as Emperor of Mojhorro.
Gender Identity
Azazel is a cisgendered man , but if you were to call him by pronouns outside of the ones he prefers, he would be angry, but only because if you're going to ignore his request for he/him to be used exclusively, he would like to be referred to as "His Greatness" or "Great King" before using any other pronouns.
Sexuality
Azazel is an aromantic, heterosexual man. He has only ever had one serious relationship, and that's with his fiancee, who he's only with for political gain. Other than that relationship, he's never been in love or romantically attracted to anybody.
He is, however, sexually attracted to women, although he doesn't really get to explore his sexuality since he's busy raising his niece and running a country.
Education
Azazel has the highest form of education available to an Elf when he was younger, including a three year abroad program, where he witnessed the chaos that other countries lived in and decided that he would take over those countries and rebuild them under his rule to be more efficient and profitable.
Employment
Azazel is the Emperor of Mojhorro, which he has doubled to tripled in size since he first claimed the throne of the country.
Accomplishments & Achievements
- At one point, Azazel ruled the entirety of the Arien continent.
- Azazel was Nemura's most decorated follower.
- He raised a cunning girl who, although traitorous, made him proud.
Failures & Embarrassments
- He was killed by his niece, despite her only being 17 years old at the time of his death.
- He failed to check on his sister, so she was murdered while living in the Caves of Butirrea.
- He married a woman who wound up betraying him and turning his niece against him.
Morality & Philosophy
TW: Abuse and Slavery mentioned in this section
Azazel was not a moral man in his first life; his family honored the Old Gods, but Azazel's patron god was Nemura, the Old God of War. He received blessing after blessing from Nemura, and the only thing that was asked to be given in return was for him to shed blood consistently, whether that be through murder or torture.
Azazel has no qualms about hurting people, but he will kill, murder, and torture whoever he needs to in order to gain control over a new land, and he has no problems when it comes to manipulating people to get what he wants.
Azazel is also an abusive uncle to his niece, Amaltheia. He raised her and allowed her to be treated as his daughter, but he often does things knowing they will bring around trauma she has about being a slave when she was a child in order to "strengthen" her.
Social
Reign
Azazel's reign lasted several hundred years, during which he achieved the following, which are just some of his "accomplishments" as Emperor of Mojhorro:
- Claiming the throne from his sister
- Taking control of his entire continent
- Becoming Nemura's most Honored Soldier
- Increasing the size of the Royal Coffers
Family Ties
Azazel has one niece, the daughter of his late twin sister, Calypso; he raised her as his own, and taught her what it would take to sit on the throne when he eventually died.
Relationships
Wealth & Financial state
Azazel is the Great King of Mojhorro, meaning he is the wealthiest person beneath his rule, although he achieved this at the expense of his own people, most of whom lived in poverty throughout his reign.
Most of his money comes from the taxes his people are required to pay, but large portions of it are also from other royal families he has conquered in the past and the donations of his political allies within his country.
