Demonthorn

Demonthorn are a unique species in a way that they are categorized as both monsters and plants. Having a Demon's personality, and a means to express themselves via their mouths and attacks - they essentially behave just like them with some major distinctions of not being able to transform into a Spirit, and being a lot more weaker.   According to some tales becoming a Demonthorn was originally a form of punishment to a Demon that disobeyed a powerful Devil. The Demon in question was forced into possessing a plant that sealed it inside forever, essentially becoming the Seven Hells' way of Imprisonment.

Basic Information

Anatomy

These spiky plants are found in isolation as they tend to consume any other Demonthorn they grow too closely next to. They are roughly the size of a small bush, with a toothless yet sharply shaped crevice that functions as their mouths. A lot of spikes can be found on their bodies, all of which they can shoot towards threats, but the thorns do take some time to regrow.

Genetics and Reproduction

Reproduction is done via Demonthorn Seeds they shoot out into random directions.

Growth Rate & Stages

They start as small as roses. Demonthorn roots absorb fire and lava that they use to grow.

Ecology and Habitats

Demonthorn withers outside of environments where they have a constant access to fire or lava.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Despite their ability to grow peacefully they do often hunt smaller prey. Experiments were conducted where feeding flesh to a Demonthorn regularly would let them grow several times past their average size.

Behaviour

They are inherently chaotic creatures, much like the Demons they originated from.
