The Third Age | Astra

The timeline the Third Age of Édafos starts at the end of 'The Great Calamity'. The annals of history have very few records about what happend before this event as all civilized races suffered heavily from this event.

    Construction beginning/end

    The Great Calamity is over and Mankind has fulfilled its part of the Electrum Accord with the elves. With no kings to rule mankind the High Elves of Nir'Pelliënn appointed the first Sovereigns of Amn, Anauroch and Alcilius.   But the celebration of the victory was short-lived. As the three newborn Realms have survived the Great Calamity the Nine Oracles all gouged out their eyes and commited suicide when they performed 'The Naming of the Age' ritual.

    Expedition to The Iron Planes

    The Expedition to the planes towards the west, the expedition was a succes when one of the largest variety and vast amounts of ore veins was dicovered under one its many mountains. When the second expedition group was send out to begin mining operations no ore was send back to the east.

    After the expedition to the Iron Planes the skies darkend with plumes of smoke rising from the western planes. In the next decade the Sovereign Denras Astra fortified the borders in fear of an imminent attack. The skirmishes were short and no suvivors lived to tell the Sovereign who these invaders were.

    The Red Mage Revolt

    Lord Edmund Hergest was to be the next Sovereign of Astra, but on his coronation day a small army of mages revolted against the nobles of Waterdeep. Lord Edmund and his daughter were burned alive by the leader of this revolt Oceirus Cinderborne.

    Amn has accepted a monarchy once more, stories claim these kings are immortal and have lead Amn for the past 600 years. Astra was forced to act, their only choice was to declare war.

  • The first time the armies of Amn have succeeded in crossing the Torrid Wastes with a vast number of soldiers. When the onslaught began fire rained from the skies and in the chaos the Amn took control of the wall from the top down. The deathtoll numbered in the thousands when Astra had retaken Baldur's Gate at the end of the bloodfilled week.
