Galactic Anomaly

There is no reliable way to travel from galaxy to galaxy, which is common knowledge in Daedalus. The only way to get from one galaxy to another, unknowingly or not, is by the way of a galactic anomaly. There is no consistency in the way they appear and no known way to summon one. Sometimes people are thrust into a new galaxy due to an anomaly forming accidentally, and sometimes people actively seek out anomalies. There is no way to tell where one is going with anomalies on their own.
Anomalies do not last for long, and sometimes close before an entire ship can make it through, splitting it in half.
