Ris'Tavar

Tallest Pourer in the land Ris'Tavar (One name) (a.k.a. Ris/Riz)

Back home in Milfy Bay my parents were the owners of the finest inn/tavern in the province, Luchili's. I spent my entire life growing up around the bar, seeing all the usual riff-raff, getting to know some patrons, but that life wasn't for me. There was one man in particular my parents called for business frequently, his name was Primewater. They only called him when they had very specific requests, usually needing to go to another port or island since he was a sailor. They never told me much about him... just that he handled long-distance business for them and if I ever took over the business that I'd know when to call him.   Well after years of helping my parents with the inn, I finally decided to go to the monastery. It was in the countryside about a day's travel from the inn. Occasionally, they would send some teams of teachers and pupils to give lessons in the courtyard by the inn. Whether they were on martial arts or mentality, the teachers always had a way of capturing my attention. They welcomed me in for an introduction/orientation lasting a week. Once the week was over, they gave me the locations of their other more focused branches. They explained that the monastery in The Arrow was mainly a recruiting hub where folk would begin their lessons and then be transported to another monastery where they could focus their studies and follow a specific monastic path.   Upon my return to my parents, our inn and the surrounding community had been ransacked. Every building I looked in, all I saw were bodies, and the remnants of what was once a quaint community. Not a single soul remained in the inn. When I went inside, a banner reading "Welcome back Ris!" was limply dangling from the ceiling. Every drop of liquor vanished, clearly taken by the assailants. My father's body was behind the bar, sticking out of his jacket pocket, I saw a letter adressed to me. I quickly took it in order to read later. I wasn't sure how much time had passed since the attackers had left, so I needed to hurry. Thinking back, I never saw my mother's body. Whether that meant she was in the burned down inn across the road, or that she had somehow escaped, I may never know, but I hope she's alright.   When I got the chance to read the letter, It amounted to the following: My parents may have never been happy with the fact that I didn't want to take over the family tavern, but they would try to support me however they could. It also said that if my travels ever took me to Saltmarsh, seek out Primewater. His Base of Operations is there, and even if he couldn't help me directly, he would be able to point me in the right direction. He owed them a big favour, so if he's difficult, mention their names to jog his memory.
