Biologics

Biological enhancement, or biologics, is any technology that causes permanent or semi-permanent change to the body without the direct implantation of any type of computerized/mechanized technology.  It is the mirror inverse of cybernetics, a different method of producing often similar results, generally much more expensive but with a significantly decreased risk of cyberpsychosis. 
The most common type of biological enhancement is surgery-based, though some kinds of hormone therapy and material implants such as bone lace or grafted muscle fiber count as well.  Organic implants such as donated or cloned transplants or custom-designed antibodies are also under this category.
Genetic enhancement is a new, groundbreaking sub-field of biologics.
