Fatil Rismal

An insular and secretive splinter group of Vinnholl who have rebelled against the traditional and more conservative Askvald. Their main desire is to tear down the current establishment where Bakdreskr are marginalized.   Though the Bakdreksr at large are atheists, Fatil Risma is religious, worshiping an object of ancient folklore; Niddrassil, the Wyrmtree.

Structure

Fatil Risma's organization is typical of a cult, with the only one having any real power being Einar, the leader of the group. Everyone else in the group serve as followers and enforcers of his will.

Public Agenda

Their propaganda speaks of bringing Vinnholl back into the light of equality, though it's a poorly kept secret that they truly wish to overthrow the The Creadores and take control of Orden.

Mythology & Lore

Fatil Risma believes that long ago, there was a garden. In this garden, there were plants of all shapes and sizes, but one towered over the rest. It was the tree, Niddrassil. Niddrassil was the oldest and greatest in the garden, and it provided shade and shelter to all beneath it.   One day, beasts from outside the garden came in and began to devour the plants of the garden. They cried to Niddrassil for help, and it complied, releasing acorns upon the beasts. These acorns became the Vinnholl, who took up arms, fought off, and subjugated the beasts that would defile Niddrassil's garden.   The beasts, enraged by Niddrassil's interference, plotted and devised a scheme to rid the garden of it so they could eat whatever they pleased. They prepared an offering with an odd number of gems and seeds and brought it to the sun and the rains.   The sun and the rains were particular beings who believed in balance above all else, and so this offering, when set between them, caused them to bicker and deliberate over splitting its bounty evenly. This went on for days and then years.   Without the sun to nourish it, Niddrassil grew weary and fell into a deep slumber. Without the rains to hydrate it, it became brittle and hard. The beasts, seeing this, came once again into the garden and began to devour its plants. They cried out for help, but Niddrassil was unable to hear them from its comatose state. Without direction, the Vinnholl were defeated and cast out.   The beast's plan worked too well, however, and by the time the sun rose again on the garden, it had become a desert, with rocky cliffs and sandy soil and Niddrassil, their ancient foe, still stood, a stone giant in the center of it.

Divine Origins

The worship of Niddrassil has been practiced infrequently within the Bakdreskr for centuries, but a Vinnholl named Einar was the first 'prophet' of it. He gathered a following rather quickly, and was eventually ostracized from Askvald.   Unable to return to Askvald or their native Axagor, they took up residence in the Rust Shoal Wreckmarsh.   They believe that Vinnholl are the rightful owners of Orden and that only the deposition of the current regime can truly free them.
