Vengeance Totem

ANTHROPOLOGY - This fetish made of petrified wood and jungle minerals is a traditional vengeance totem to a subset of tribes in South America, specifically in and around the Amazon jungle. It is made in secret by a member of a tribe that has been wronged and is said to bind a powerful spirit to it that will plague the victim - it must remain secret, and if the crafter is discovered the spirit will turn on them.
OCCULT - These items are said to be imbued with powerful eldritch enchantments, enabling one who wields it with vengeance to bind with the spirit within. Many stories both horrid and wondrous can be found mentioning totems of this sort in occult works.
