Badlands
The Badlands are a dry, dirty, scrubby, hardy environment that one may mistake for a desert hearing about or reading about it for the first time, but it receives just enough rain to disqualify it.
Geography
The Badlands are located just along the leeward side of a large interior mountain range.
Localized Phenomena
Frequent lightning strikes that go straight to the ground.
Climate
Warm and dry; especially in the summer. Though, the temperatures are not quite as bad as in sand deserts like The Parched Expanse
Precipitation averages just over ten inches per year, and depending on what time of year and day, there is a surprisingly decent chance of snowfall.
Season | Low | Average | High |

History
An ancient civilization once housed the Lightning Crystal. It was buried in the Badlands for around 2,000 years after the last recorded sighting. It attracts and sometimes even generates lightning.
Tourism
Not much to speak of, though the few trees that are scattered about the area have become well-known, much-loved landmarks.
