Twyllrys (The Dark Palace)
Government
Tsicar is the king of the shadows, and rules them with no aid from the populous. He is generally fair to his subjects, and carefully considers each of his people's actions. However, he's not perfect, and is susceptible to bribes. The shadows have a cultish attitude toward their leader, born out of a desperation to break out of the darkness and take back the surface world.
Defences
No one can find the entrances if they aren't looking. If they are looking, it's not to attack.
Industry & Trade
Shadows hunt animals and gather cave lichens for food. They don't need clothes, but making furnishings is a lucrative business. People compete to scavenge for the best materials.
Infrastructure
Over centuries, the shadows have carved out an existing cave system. Rooms are built uniformly, with some housing up to ten shadows, and some are used to store food. Central atria host sporting games and communal meals. Rivers run around the outsides of the caverns to separate the borders (just in case)
Assets
Shadows don't need armor or weapons, but they have a great store of equipment, jewelry, and valuables. It serves as a reminder of what they lost and what they could be, if only they could defeat King Oaken.
Guilds and Factions
A small group of shadows have rallied themselves around an aging general from the war against the surface. He claims that the leadership of Tsicar is weak, and has waited to long for the nonexistent perfect moment. This general leads unauthorized guerrilla strikes on foreigners, and while Tsicar knows about this he has done nothing about the general.
History
The shadows were driven to hide in this cave after the creation of Silvas Forest. They are able to control world politics from within their city, carefully manipulating people to the ultimate goal of killing King Oaken and retaking their rightful place.
Architecture
The stone is shaped smoothly and intricately. The shadows occupy their time with beautiful craftsmanship.
Geography
The Dark Palace is located entirely underground, beneath the Cresare Mountains in a system of caves that lead to strategic points in the world outside the valley.
Natural Resources
They must leave the caves to get whatever they need, so they appoint hunting parties to journey outside Cresare.
