The Newidiad Group

The Newidiad group (alteration group) believe that instead of the earth being the one who gifts humans with the things they need to survive like food and water, that the earth is a gift too them, that they are able to control and alter to best suit their needs. As with any radical group there are usually a range of people that agree or disagree with their policies, but with the Newidiad group they are the minority with this way of thinking.
Instead of thanking the earth and only taking what they need to survive so that the land may flourish and repair itself, they harvest all that they can so that they live a life of luxury at the expense of the world. For example, a village may kill a deer and share out all aspects of the body so that they can survive and make use of any waste with bones and pelts. But rather than that the group would kill 3 or 4 deer so that they call all have as much as they want and have only the desirable pieces and leave the rest for the earth to take back. This way of living upsets many people, to the point where the Newidiad’s have become a slightly nomadic tribe as they can only settle as long as each village or settlement will allow, before their disrespectful ways tarnish the land surrounding them.
Many of the diverse tribes, settlements and societies don’t get along, except for when dealing with the Newidiad group. Their utter disrespect of the earth and the gifts that are given mean that they aren’t welcome in most of the cities, despite many of the noblemen that are living in the cities that treat the gifts of the earth like this, as they have become disconnected from the simpler living off the earth.
