Castrum Empire
The Castrum Empire was arguably the most powerful and expansive nation on the mainland. It was made up of a large unitary state containing all peoples of the Castran culture. The Empire mirrored its culture in many ways, priding itself on it's heritage and attempting to replicate Altinum. The government was an Oligarchy of 20 'Senators' whose positions were passed down through family lineage, with a figurehead Emperor being chosen by the Senators every 20 years.
The Empire and the Castran people have become the bogeymen of the isles, with various cultures having their own take on evil immortal Castran remaining on the Isles to torture its inhabitants. All that truly remains of the Empire in the Isles is the large presence of automatons that patrol the northern Island of Thebata.
Not much else is known about the Empire, thanks to the alleged 'Burning of Castrum'
