The Fellowship

Once the Penta Caelum established itself as the undisputed ruling body of Creatos, it became important to take another cementing step forward, recruitment to their cause. That, and branding. Branding is important.   With the emergence of more and more arcane-gifted individuals, especially the youth, the Penta Caelum had an opportunity right in front of them.  Not only could they monitor as many of these gifted as possible, but could compensate them with station and opportunity to make sure their talents were not being put to more nefarious, self-indulgent, causes.     Each wizard founded his or her own organization, a guild-academy hybrid.  The Penta Caelum wanted to educate and cultivate the regional talent. Employment, exclusive access to resources, and clout were also granted to those who joined to make sure one had reasons to stick around and remain loyal to the Penta Caelum.       It became a popular, polarizing, debate topic on whether the wizards were actually generous to those who served under them, that these 'academies' were nothing more than a brain washing operation.  Popular opinion supported that wizards did not want to bother themselves with politics and ruling day to day. It was believed they liked to sit in their ivory towers and have the freedom to exercise their arcane curiosities, with no monarch getting in their way.  Whatever the motivation, the wizards did not seem to have any issues with their subordinates becoming powerful and wealthy. Creatos was growing and becoming the center of the world's attention.      There were those whose job it was to convince the obstinate, to persuade them to join the cause. Opposers called them deprogrammers, others in favor saw them more as preachers.  These shepherds of the arcane establishments were practiced and ready to prove to those who believed their powers came from anywhere other than The God Hand that they were misled by those seeking power and control.  One such shepherd, Taylor Dulan, was credited with the method and practice itself. If there were ever prospects that were seen to have notably high potential, yet stubbornly opposed to the Penta Caelum, Taylor would be brought in.  Taylor's record remains virtually spotless and has made a career being shared among the Penta Caelum to ensure rogue mages are minimized and...conflict... is avoided.
