The God Hand

The Godhand was conceptualized by Chadwick Esterbal, an aspiring illusory adept in the colleges of the arcane. When the orcs' invasion was imminent, the God Hand was given the order by King Augustine and the world of mankind was saved.   When the (to-be) Penta Caelum gathered and theorized the God Hand, they needed to risk tapping directly into the ley lines themselves to supply the impossibly large spell with enough energy to carry out their plan.   Each wizard had a role in creating the God Hand.   Vultuuvan, the evoker, would poor his soul's effort into channeling the flow of the ley energy. There are no others as talented in wielding the raw power of the arcana, but even Vultuuvan is not plagued with enough hubris to believe he could control it. However, giving the energy direction and purpose is a challenge he has dedicated his life's studies to prepare for.   Shiva-tol, the abjurer, would protect the Penta Caelum from the sheer force of the ley energy's current. Her wards would provide Vultuuvan the luxury of not needing to brace himself as he wields the ley energy, a considerable consideration when evoking raw power.   Arnos, the diviner, could see points of failure as the Hand was summoned. He could provide Vultuuvan and Shiva-tol glimpses into imperfections they may not have seen otherwise, oversights that may have taken them by surprise and broken their concentration. With his vision, they would have the best chance of being being ready to make adjustments as needed.   Tullie, the enchanter, would keep the team focused and confident, removing any erring sense of failure or doubt from their minds while the powers of the cosmos barraged them. Doubt is a powerful foe and there was no place for it here. Fear can be crippling, but also motivating. Tullie is an expert at manipulating one's feeling and concocting the perfect cocktail of emotion to get the group through the event.   And Chadwick, finding himself among the foremost experts of his studies. Focused on not allowing himself to become overwhelmed by the magnitude of what they were about to attempt, he was in charge of the vision itself. By painting a unified image into the minds of the other four at once, their coordinated efforts would be perfectly succinct, with no subjectivity as to what it was they were creating.   A large arcane focus was place in the middle of the kingdom where the ley energy was the most accessible. The Penta Caelum opened the arcane vein and what poured out was a deluge of energy. Controlling this energy would be impossible, like trying to control the ocean itself. However, redirection requires considerably less energy and absorbs significantly less impact. Like water, ley energy will flow through a given channel before bursting in all directions.   The energy gathered an the arcane focus rose into the atmosphere. At its pinnacle it burst into five points of concentrated ley. The semi-translucent iridescence began to take shape across sky, further than the eye could see.   The fingers drove miles and miles into the crust of the planet before curling underneath the kingdom. Across all the neighboring nations, one could feel the ground shake. Magma spewed from the mantle as the crust was ripped from its bed. Undergrown rivers and oceans took shape just as quickly as others disappeared. Caverns and tunnels were born as the ground stretched and crumbled.   The chaos of the lift was over faster than one might imagine. The shimmer of arcana faded and the air became quiet for a time. The chaos after is what lingered. The God Hand did not come without consequence and collateral damage on all sides of the kingdom and into neighboring nations.   But from ground, now lifted to its great pedestal, Creatos was born.
