Signal House

The magically gifted have always had the means of communicating, seeing, and even traveling across great distances. These 'gifted' were called as such because they were so few. Their talents so precious and rare.   Since The God Hand, the number of 'gifted' individuals skyrocketed. Along with it came an entire industry of instant gratification. Now, not only were there more people capable of communicating, seeing and traveling across great distances, but there was a market where these services were being sold.   Once the general public was exposed to such expedition, there was no going back. How could one stomach sending a message by hand anymore. That could take weeks to reach its destination. It could get intercepted and never reach the intended destination.   Sure, if one was sending long-worded correspondence to someone, a mundane trinket, or something they wished to keep from the eyes or ears of these 'gifted,' then sure, conventional methods suffice.   For anything that required urgency, however, the Signal Houses were where one went. At these establishments, trained wizards sold their services where they could relay messages to other signal houses via telepathic messaging. These messages were short, and costly, but to those willing to pay, a message could be delivered in minutes versus days or even weeks, if at all.   For those with deep enough pockets, arrangements could be made so that the Signalers could even be introduced to their network of constituents so the messages could be sent directly to them instead of another Signaler.   Since Signalers are quite limited on the amount of telepathic communication they can perform a day, the price for such expedience has made Signal Houses just one of the booming innovations of Creatos.
