Bob

With the already recorded known knowns of the impact sites, combined with the known unknowns that theories have projected, and sprinkle on the unknown unknowns their minds haven't been able to come up with yet, all Leytographers have to have at least one screw loose to choose this blossoming profession.   
There are Leytographers and then there is Bob.
You can't afford Bob. It's not just because he's the most expensive Leytographer in Creatos.  Being one of the only Leytographers capable of going on solo dives, let alone owning the longest living streak, Bob has earned the price tag.  Bob requires more than just gold. Bob also requires a contribution to an already robust arsenal of magical trinkets and artifacts that makes each journey a little safer than the last.  
Even if one was to come up with both, there still must be a worthy pitch.  Bob is not just a mercenary, but a true explorer.  Bob knows this position will likely lead to an abbreviated lifetime, but what a lifetime it has been.  Being the first being to see some of the things Bob has seen, recorded, and charted leaves a legacy that age alone struggles to compete with, one better come ready to paint a picture of magnificence and wonder.
Once one has piqued Bob's interest with a worthy adventure, paid the brass tax, and was able to procure and provide a satisfactory artifact, saddle up, it's going to be a ride.  
Bob is not just motivated by an insatiable desire to be the first to explore and discover what no one else has done before. Bob is motivated to do it faster than anyone else as well.  On the surface, Bob's pace is reckless and unmatched.  Upon study, it's more of a signature. Bob's pace is an art, a dance, of weaving and practiced steps.  There is a reason Bob likes to work alone.  Everyone else simply cannot keep up.
