Wildriver Crossing

Wildriver Crossing or Wildriver is a small mining village located along the River Warde in Western Selvirasi. The settlement is known for mining different ores in the area.

History

During the Age of Warlords, the town of Wildriver Crossing was inhabited by refugees that had arrived from Amplestead and Gladebarding, seeking work at Fort Carlisle. But due to subsequent overpopulation, the settlers moved northward and founded the town of Wildriver Crossing. One of the refugees, Braeker was an accomplished healer and a aerdwalker, a priest of Marm that can mold and work the earth magically. Around the same time, the leaders of the Southern Alliance gathered at Fort Carlisle to discuss the condition of the alliance. Ludius was poisoned by a concoction used by the Windbreakers, a militia owned by Ludius' brother, Consatntinor. The Southern Alliance required the help of Braeker and the Arcane Healers from Marrowfield Bluffs.

For some time, Wildriver Crossing was abandoned and had no use up until 1584, when a Bemedic explorer named Anelys Cliffjumper discovered a grotto of Arcanium on the hillside and built a cabin there. Word spread in Selvirasi and more people arrived at her home and set up camp. Wildriver Crossing was founded at that point and became property of the city of Slimfalls.

Geography

Wildriver Crossing is a significantly small settlement situated along the road near the Warde River. The village is located on the edge of the Selvirasi border with Bemedia. The settlement was recently founded when a large deposit of Arcanium was found on a small escarpment. The closest locations to Wildriver Crossing are Fort Carlisle to the south and Amplestead to the west.

Natural Resources

Next to the small wheat fields and livestock that sustain the settlement and surroundings, Wildriver Crossing also has a Arcanium Mine that is still in use under the authority of the Duke of Selvirasi.
