The Thresholds
The Thresholds is the name for all the land between the Inner Sea and the Elemental Poles on the edge of Creation. Each cardinal direction begins in a temperate climate and gradually gives way to the dominant weather of that Pole.
Whitewall - an orderly city built on the bones of the First Age.
Confederation of Rivers - The Big Three (Lookshy, Great Forks and Nexus) joined up with many smaller states to push out the Scarlet Dynasty.
Gem - a city-state of capitalism turned up to eleven.
Ember - a prime exporter of firedust.
Skullstone - an island consumed by a shadowland.
North
The North starts cold and gets colder until you reach the White Sea. Across the ice floes of the White Sea is the eternal tundra, reaching out for thousands of miles. The tundra, and the further reaches of the north, are inhabited by tribes known as the Icewalkers.Notable Sites
The Bull's Camp - a tent-city with a few dozen built structures, near the battlefield of Futile Blood.Whitewall - an orderly city built on the bones of the First Age.
East
The most bountiful and populated of all the Thresholds, more people live in the Eastern Threshold than in the rest of Creation combined. The largest cities off the Blessed Isle are here, as well as innumerable villages and townships, until you reach the deep forests that reach out from the Elemental Pole of Wood.Notable Sites

South
The bountiful southern coast of the Inner Sea have allowed many city-states to rise up in contest of each other. Further south becomes an intense desert, stretching out to the Pole of Fire.Notable Sites

West
The Western Threshold is a continual ocean, littered with islands and archipelagos. Rumours about of First Age ruins deep under the ocean waves.Notable Sites
