The Realm

The Realm is the largest empire in all Creation. Lead by the Scarlet Empress and the Great Houses of Dragon-Blooded, it is one of the most powerful nations in the whole world, with interests stretching from the farthest West, deep into the East.

Enemies of the Realm

The Realm is not without myriad enemies. Among the foremost is the Confederation of Rivers, an agglomeration of city-states in the East who are able to keep the Realm at bay, and the Sorcerer-Kings of the South.

Structure

At the top of the hierarchy is the Scarlet Empress, who stands above all. The entire Realm has been deliberately designed to revolve around her.

Great House Dynasts

Below her in the hierarchy are the Dragon-Blooded Great Houses, otherwise referred to as Dynasts - in accordance with the Immaculate Philosophy, a Dynast is almost impossible to prosecute as long as they aren't hurting the Realm or other Dynasts. A complex internal hierarchy affects the social ranking of the Great Houses.

Patricians

The next step down is the Patricians - wealthy or skilled mortals and their families. A Dynast who doesn't Exalt is usually adopted into a Patrician family, to strengthen their family and increase the chance of future Exaltation. Meanwhile, a Patrician who does Exalt will almost certainly be adopted into a Great House.

Peasantry

Peasants are everyone else - farmers, labourers, common soldiers.

Public Agenda

The public agenda of the Realm is to control Creation.

Not all in the hands of one person - contending with the egos of the Dynasts.
