First Circle Demons

There are uncounted species of First Circle demons that exist, created by their superiors for a purpose that is often forgotten to time. No summoner knows the full extent, but there are some which feature most commonly.

Agatae, the Beauty Wasp

The agatae are crystalline wasps, refracting a thousand colours in their forms, with stingers like finely-crafted swords. They spend their time in strange philosophical thought, and their pronunciations have no easy translation into the tongues of man. These thoughts often drive them to random outbursts of emotion, from all-encompassing love to singularly focused hatred. If questioned, the agata cannot often explain itself in a way that a summoner might understand.   Agatae are riding beasts, and they accept this. If they lose a mortal rider, they have been known to travel days to fetch their kin to tend to the grave, or compose poetry to mourn their passing.

Amphelisae, the Poisoned Court

Amphelisae are seven-foot long, frill-necked lizards with shimmering scales. They murmur to themselves at all times, a quiet hissing rustle that gives them away for what they truly are. When excited, it raises it's frill and raises it's voice, and poisonous creatures begin to manifest from the shadows and hidden corners. If not quieted, these animals swarm over the demon and it becomes an amorphous tentacled beast, capable of spitting an endless supply of poison. The sorcerer who summoned it can instruct it to instead drool this poison, supplying more than a litre of venom a minute, for over an hour.

Angyalka, the Harpist

An Angyalka is vaguely humanoid, with porcelain skin, but possesses no eyes, and has long prehensile hair and two dozen fingers with four or more joints in each. The angyalka are compelled to play music, and draw their notes from the air itself, playing time itself. To those who like themselves, the music of the angyalka is beautiful and reassuring, but to one who despises themselves, even secretly, the music is physically and mentally agonising. An angyalka cannot cease to play, or they cease to exist.

Erymanthoi, the Blood Ape

Erymanthoi are far and above the most favoured demon of summoners all across Creation. They are summoned for battle, and nothing pleases them more than the blood of foes. The blood ape puts up only a token resistance to binding, and serve willingly for the duration of their binding as long as they are permitted to regularly fight.   Blood apes of course resemble hulking gorillas with dull red fur and bony protrusions from their backs and skulls. They have long black claws that are grooved to allow the free flow of blood.

Gilmyne, the Dancers Beyond

In the strictest sense, a gilmyne is a silver pillar of flame, dancing as flame is often imagined to. However, some strange trick of their dance tricks the senses, making a gilmyne who is not intently examined to appear as kin to the viewer - a human sees them as another unplaceably familiar human, often with traits of that viewers homeland. It is one of the many examinations of the Heptagram for a fellow student to truly be a gilmyne, and only students who discover the deception are allowed to progress further.

Hopping Puppeteers

Puppeteers are creatures of architecture, constantly reforming their surroundings according to their own inhuman tastes. They resemble a coin-sized knot of hair, with dozens of spindled legs ending in thin fingers. Those who have seen them at work report that their process is chaotic and inscrutable, tearing pieces from their surroundings and using them to build whatever walls, fences and building strike their fancy, or that of their summoner. Provided with raw materials, a puppeteer can construct small buildings or siege equipment in minutes.   For some unknown reason, puppeteers adore small children, but have no interest in truly caring for them. Loosed puppeteers have been found carrying children in various states of dehydration and starvation.

Neomah, the Makers of Flesh

Neomah are the archetypical demonic courtesan. The scent and sight of a neomah are alluring to all creatures, and it is able to alter its own flesh to suit the tastes of its customer. Any creature is welcome, in return for a piece of its own flesh; after the neomah has collected enough flesh, it cobbles together a child of mismatched pieces, and leaves it to its own devices.   If compelled by sorcery, or suitably bribed, the neomah can craft flesh to another's specifications. Building a composite of two creatues, or creating a child from two same-sex parents is a simple, if laborious task by which sorcerers can overcome the constraints of anatomy.
