Exaltation
Exaltation is the process by which mortals (usually humans, but sometimes Beastmen or Wyld Mutants) are granted a portion of godly power, and become Exalted.
Powerful Exalted that emerged from the Underworld in recent years. They exceed the Dragonblooded in power, and are frequently seen carrying quantities of artifacts unseen since the First Age. Only a few secretive gods have suspicions on who commands them or who could have created them.
Types of Exaltation
The Celestial Exalted
The Celestial Host are those granted power by the Celestial Incarnae (The Unconquered Sun, Luna, and the Five Maidens). Celestial Exalted are technically symbiotic - when they Exalt, a small spark of divinity attaches itself to the lower soul. When a Celestial Exalt dies, the spark is recycled and used again. This can occasionally mean that the spark carries memories through to its next host. Since the Shogunate, Celestial Exaltation has been interpreted as a form of possession. According to Immaculate Philosophy, once someone is possessed by an Anathema, they become a demonic force and the original soul of the host is devoured.Solar
The Chosen of The Unconquered Sun. Until recently, the Solar Exalted were absent from Creation. Solars are divided into five castes.- The Dawn: Incredible warriors and cunning strategists.
- The Zenith: The priests of the Unconquered Sun.
- The Twilight: Sorcerers, scholars and savants of peerless intellect.
- The Night: Watchmen and investigators.
- The Eclipse: The diplomats of Solars, with pacts to spirits, demons and fae.
Lunars
The Chosen of Luna were once the mates of the Solar Exalted, as well as their bodyguards and commanders of their armies. They went into hiding during the Usurpation and fractured into several factions, with differing goals. Lunars are divided into three castes.- The Frenzied: Anathema who sought the power of great beasts and went mad.
- The Tricksters: Liars who would change their shape to lead loyal souls astray.
- The Ogres: Hideous sorcerers who made desperate pacts with the darkest of demons.

- Daybreak: The Daybreak caste are necromancers and scholars, who wrench lore from death itself.
- Day: The Day caste are the assassins and spies of the Abyssals. The Day caste may never be seen, or they may remove all possible witnesses.
