The Huge, Terrible Desert

The Huge, Terrible Desert is a large, bad dry and sandy area west of the Gisha River and Delta valley, north of Gjo Mountains and south of The Kesh Forest. Near the coasts, the river delta, and Lake Om-Ci, the terrain resembles the "high desert" of the North American Mojave or Sonora deserts, and deeper into the expanse it becomes more like the Rub' al Khali in The Arabian Peninsula.

In the pre-Convulsive  era the desert was frequently used as a training and testing ground for all sorts of magic users, and it is believed that many of the sapient desert dwelling species, like the Huge, Terrible Goblins were the results of arcane experiments.
