Culture and Cultural Heritage

Physical currency is not used for internal transactions in the Ascendancy. Instead, transactions work on a credit system in which each citizen is entitled to a certain amount of resources over a specified period of time. The shared knowledge base of the tome archons ensures that records can be kept accurately with little bureaucratic fuss.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Although members of other races sometimes visit Solania and may even take up semi-permanent residence there, most find it offputting to live surrounded by the functional omniscience the species displays in their home territory. Any non-tome archon on Solania will spend the entire time at a significant disadvantage compared to the locals: since every tome archon knows what is known by any other, there is no need for signage, advertisement or barriers to tell them where they should go. Outsiders also find it prohibitively difficult to obtain full citizenship, as they cannot contribute directly to the tome archons' shared knowledge base, nor can they receive information from it without the help of a tome archon.
