The Great Temple of Rivor

Sketch shown above by travelling merchant artist, Kino Salavant.   Rivor is named so because it is built upon the Champion's river, which continues through the Golden Lies and into Arderin, eventually ending near Campion.

Demographics

The majority of the population in Rivor are Druids, though the odd human scholar may come to gain the wisdoms of Rivor's great library. Rivor is open to all.

Government

The settlement is more of a city for knowledge rather than people, so it is run by the librarians and lorekeepers. There is no king or lord of Rivor, just wisdom and knowledge accumulated by the Druids over the past milennia or so.

Districts

The main Library and canteen of Rivor is open to all, while the sanctum is for residents only, and the vaults are for librarians and lorekeepers only.   The library is possibly the largest place of learning in all of Coreth, having thousands of subsections for every corner of history, geography, fiction and science. The canteen is smaller and is there to provide food to the people who seek the wisdom of the library. Food is either cheap or free, which is good even though it may not be the best quality. The Druids and Lorekeepers here are possibly the kindest of the Druidic race.   Next is the Sanctum. A great hall where all of the Rivoran residents eat, sleep, and nurture their young. Some may also have pets, mainly birds and cats.   Next are the many vaults of Rivor, which within them contain the secret and forbidden knowledge of the Druids and the world that only the librarians and lorekeepers are trusted to look upon. It is that that some vaults hold forbidden scrolls of magic that could potentially bring about the End of All Life.

MALOR, FOUNDER OF RIVOR

First Druid to walk the lands and also founder of the library of limitless knowledge. Malor founded Rivor as a sort of training ground for those who wish to expand the mind. He created the vaults to store knowledge that if read by the wrong eyes, grave consequences would follow. He himself chose the Lorekeepers, who would then train their offspring to become lorekeepers and so on and so forth.
