Sharrow's Hold

Sharrow's Hold is the only town of any size on Confluence. It is a vibrant, even boisterous place, a crossroads for travellers, traders and mercenaries from across the Multiverse.   The town is relatively new, founded some twenty years ago by Leonidas Sharrow when he first arrived here. There is debate among philosophers as to whether Confluence itself existed before Sharrow's arrival.   Despite it's young age, the town is remarkably well developed, with sturdy walls created through the profligate use of Stoneshape spells, and great arches above used as a foundation for steel nets against flying threats, although these are only fitted in times of trouble.   The town is (rather loosely) policed by the Sharrow's Hold Constabulary , who mainly exist just to make sure that anyone passing through doesn't get so carried away that they start to interfere with trade or harm the locals.   In the event of an emergency, there is a Sharrow's Hold Militia, which is called out as required. Notionally, every adult inhabitant and visitor to the town can be called up, but in practice this is rarely required. In most cases, visiting adventurers can be relied on to deal with the problem with the lure of the loot and prestige to be gained. If this isn't enough, the town attracts spellcasters from all across the Multiverse, and is happy to call up as many as are needed to the militia.
