Ember Lace
Krysta's Character's Subheading
This one was a straight human ranger-cartographer, mapping a forest when Aegis' wandering wood encroached on her campspot. Of course, being who he is, Aegis cursed her for intruding on HIS wood. THE NERVE! He told her he /might/ lift the curse if she could find the wood again.
Problem solved, far as he's concerned. One human who'll never hunt again thanks to that curse, vs his wood that most people can never find even once.
So she finds it again. And he's all ready to smite her for that second intrusion. But he's fae enough that that challenge to find it ~could~ be considered an invitation
So the challenge is reset "Fine. Find it a third time and I'll lift the curse"
"And through skill, luck, and whatever degree of connection she had (even she can't say why she was so readily drawn to the right places) she winds up there again. Even he's grudgingly impressed. And makes the decision that if he can't be rid of her anyway, he'll live up to his promise to lift the curse, and make her a part of them, welcome in that wood.
