Magic squares are a talismanic forms that protect against something or actively enhance in some way.

Modifiers and Enhancements
Magic squares made with rare inks or certain materials can provide advantage on the check or additional effects or or lower the DC by 5. It is also possible to create multi-layered squares that involve having one square to integrated into another for multiple effects.Weapon | Number of Squares |

Manufacturing
Magic squares are identifiable by their sharp edges and cubic design. They are composed a square, or multiple squares, interlaid inside another square. These repetitive squares represent grids of numbers arranged in such a way that the sum of each row, column and diagonal is the same.
Social Impact
Magic squares are ubiquitous in everyday life. They feature prominently in sigil making as a kind of divine mathematics. An expression of the interrelatedness of many subjects; particularly nature.

Access & Availability
They are employed through ornamentation or in any object carried in ones pocket or on symbol covered clothing. It is also not unheard of to swallow such talismans.
Complexity
The engraver requires a DC 10 + level + modifiers due to complexity or distractions INT check and 10mins per level.
Adjustments to standard squares take 1 minute and require a successful INT check against the original DC.
Permanent squares take 1hr per level to inscribe and are limited to the engraver's ability modifier.
