Slèitear Talamh

Slèitear Talamh is the south-western most island in Cùl-tìre. The farthest flung colonies of the mighty Awanna Empire dominate the northern half of Slèitear, while the five Ionadi Kingdoms stretch from the central regions to the southern coastline. To the west lie the remnant tribes of the island's first people, the Ciadrì, while the eastern coast plays host to the Tūmanako Iwi, refugees from the creeping sickness in the east.   warmed by the northerly winds and the waters of the great Cuanmòr ocean, the lands of the Ciadrì are a refuge from the bitter cold of Slèitear Talamh’s interior. The dark stone mountains play host to an equally grey and unyielding people. The indigenous tribes are divided between the slopes of Bruthach na Grèine, the mountainous Beanntan Àrda and Beanntan Ìseal, and the lowlands of Yìrloch. They are all of them a stubborn folk, whose culture is steeped in superstitions and rituals, which they perform in the hope of regaining contact with the old gods.   Shielded from the harsh climate by the mountain ranges of the island's interior, the Imperial colonies of Tashar Yashi and Tasha Kore stretch along the temperate northern shores of Slèitear. The highlands of Ƙasar Yamma and the forests of Ƙasar Tuddai make up the rest of the northern lands. Awa also has a loose grasp on the kingdom of Tir Fyrm, whose ruler, pressured by the will of his people, has recently sworn fealty to the god-emperor, returning his holdings to the Empire his ancestors fought so hard to take them from.   The lords of southern Slèitear, presiding over the countries of Northlain, Soothlain, Tir Donnen and Afonlain, have no such desire to give back their lands to the Empire, and devotedly serve the High King, whose realm, Strathay Ionad, dominates the island’s midlands, and shields the people of the south from the influence of the Awanna empire.   To the west, some of the swampy, coastal areas previously held by the Ionadi have recently been settled by the seafaring Tūmanako Iwi. These new arrivals to Slèitear have claimed the stormswept Northlainian counties of Lanishair and Glaswelltshair as their own safe havens, restoring the ruins to habitable conditions and renaming the two regions Kauhou and Takutaihou, respectively.
