Wildwalker

This grouping of monsters are found to be more humanoid than the beasts they resemble, most standing on their hind legs much like a human but still retaining the fur and animal heads and features. Breaking them down from the generalization, Wildwalkers are most notably separated by the kind of beast they represent and this beast is what their personality and instincts parallel. Because of this separation a Diver will not necessarily encounter multiple kinds of Wildwalkers in the same Door because of territorial problems occurring, but when entering the higher ranked Doors with more open areas one needs to be careful of how they act between the groups of monsters, you will never know if they are on good terms or bad.    The most common of these Wildwalkers are Gnolls, hyena-like monsters that hunt together in lower ranked doors. Weaker Divers need to watch out for these more intelligent creatures as they hunt in their cackle as they usually wait for them to become injured by the other monsters before quickly hunting them down in a flurry of horrid laughter and bloody tooth and claw.   Another more dangerous band are the Zhu, pig-men that make camp in their area and scavenge the Door for food. Divers make sure to watch whether the amount of monsters drops in areas meaning a stronger one is nearby or a pack of Zhu have eaten them all. Voracious eaters, they have been known to attempt to eat anything on a person even their armor during combat.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The shapes and sizes that these monsters can be found in are many but some are detailed as more research is completed. All Wildwalkers seem to have more humanoid hands able to grasp items and weapons. The following have been studied:   Gnolls- Tall and lanky creatures with four long limbs, they hunch over most of the time low to the ground in order to pick up any scent left behind.    Zhu- Large and more rotund they carry themselves with shoulders back. They host powerfully built limbs to cary themselves and any prey they encounter to take back whole to their camp. With this they also only have three fingers on each hand though which limits some function but they make due.

Ecology and Habitats

In terms of the kind of places these Wildwalkers live, they can be seperated into two area they can be found, one is within Doors that are more vibrant and filled with vegetation, and those Doors that open into a colder realm of ice and snow.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Most Wildwalkers discovered have carnivorous diets though those like the Zhu have been shown to be also omnivorous. No herbivores have been discovered so far.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The perception of Gnolls is balanced between each of its keen senses to be able to properly aid in hunting, though when they pick up the scent of blood they seem to hone in even more.   The Zhu on the other hand have an amazing sense of smell due to their large snouts with only moderate senses otherwise. They are even able to catch scents and smells buried in the ground finding hidden vegetation and items.
