Mana Crystal

Crystalline materials found within Doors that appear in a broad range of colors across the spectrum. These crystals have been found to be graded by their opacity after having been found to be more useful and powerful the clearer they are. Thus being said the highest grade of mana crystal that has been recorded is a 3rd grade crystal being found in an A rank Door which has a cloudy center the size of a baseball.

Material Characteristics

Mana crystals are found in a similar form as quartz clusters varying in color and sticking out no more than a foot from surfaces.

Physical & Chemical Properties

This new type of crystal has been found to react with Divers on a level that normal people cannot understand, some Divers have even said they feel a slight vibration when they hold it where normal people would feel varying amounts of pain holding the material dependent on the size and amount. This is because the crystals absorb mana from the surrounding area but more so from those holding the material, thus those with less mana feel the effects of the drain faster than when a Diver would feel.

Geology & Geography

This material can usually be found through Doors that are saturated in a high amount of mana. Within these they are usually located along the walls and ceiling growing in large clusters deeper inside the area.

History & Usage

Everyday use

These crystals have found great use in creating stronger equipment through its ability to absorb and concentrate mana to give gear wondrous effects. While the Divers mainly use this in their battle against the Doors, they have also been found to be a vital component in magical engineering to create machines that work off of mana in the area instead of fuel and are automated by select spells powered by the crystal.

Color

These wondrous crystals appear in every color across the spectrum and have shown to become even more brilliant the more opaque they become.
