Church of the Tides

Journal entry, Florianus, imperial scholar, in the 23rd year of the fifth age, on the topic of the 'Church of the Tides' at the beginning of the first age.

The Church of the Tides was a religious organization that was deeply rooted in the values and beliefs of Iormfar, God of the Oceans. Iormfar was known for his brash and impulsive personality, but he was also fiercely protective of the oceans and its creatures. He valued courage and strength in battle, but also had a deep respect for the power of the ocean and the forces of nature.
The High Mothers of the Cult were chosen for their spiritual wisdom and leadership, and were expected to embody the values of Iormfar in their daily lives. They were seen as protectors of the oceans and its creatures, and were deeply committed to the well-being of their communities.
At the same time, the High Mothers were also expected to be open to the guidance of Iormfar . They recognized the power and beauty of the ocean, and they seeked to protect it from harm.
The 'Church of the Tides' was organized into a series of separate sub-regions, with each temple responsible for overseeing the daily lives of the citizens in its respective area. The High Mother of each temple were responsible for interpreting and enforcing religious doctrine within their communities, and for promoting the values of Iormfar .
When matters arose that require the input and decision-making of all the High Mothers , they came together in the capital to form a Senate. The Senate was responsible for discussing matters such as trade, diplomacy, and defense, as well as making decisions that affect the entire society. They were guided by the principles of courage, strength, and respect for the power of nature, which were the core values of Iormfar  and the 'Church of the Tides'.
Overall, the 'Church of the Tides' was a complex and nuanced society that was deeply committed to the values of Iormfar . The High Mothers were respected and revered for their spiritual wisdom and leadership, and the 'Church of the Tides' as a whole was seen as a shining example of a society that is both just and compassionate.
