Markus Hakke

Markus Hakke is one of Chronia's greatest warriors and strategists, and currently serves at the The Academy as its Dean of the College of War.  His friendly smile and hearty laugh belie a piercing analytical mind and a preternatural talent for all martial skills.  Markus acts as the current Vice-Chancellor's right-hand man and strategic advisor for those rare occasions when the Academy's assistance may be required.  

Biography

Born in Nordskald to a well-known Nordrikean orc general and a human mother, Markus was born already fated to be a warrior.  From an early age, his skill with a blade was almost supernatural, and he quickly mastered almost every sort of martial instrument by the time he had become a teenager.  With a bevy of tutors and advisors at his disposal, Markus also picked up a deep and encyclopaedic knowledge of military strategy and tactics, eventually leading to his admission to the Academy becoming all but a formality.  Even so, Markus gravitated towards military study, absorbing tales and stories of grand military achievements like a sponge would soak up water.
Upon graduation, Markus served several years in the Nordrikean military, patrolling the coasts of Nordrike and driving pirates and other monsters away from the sea merchant routes.  However, the relative peace of Chronia meant these encounters were far removed from the grand tales of heroism he had been promised.  Resigning his commission after being offered a permanent promotion to general, Markus instead turned his efforts towards adventuring, forming the adventuring group the Hundred Spears, which quickly became one of the most renowned groups in Chronia, due in no small part to Markus' terrifying martial ability.
Still, fame could only do so much to whet Markus' appetite, and even the Hundred Spears could not fulfil him.  Eventually, he turned over the leadership of the group to his trusted lieutenants, and returned to the Academy, this time as an instructor.  In almost no time at all, he was elected to the Deanship, and now enjoys regaling his students with the same tales that fascinated him.
