The War of the Bloody Wasteland
This is the sad story of the death of a promising country the Gorman Federation.
The Conflict
Prelude
The Gorman Federation was a shining beacon of success as a federation that was becoming powerful and wealthy. They were doing very well until they were swept with a wave of deadly plagues that hurt them bad. The Gorman Federations doctors were not capable enough to fight the plagues. So the Gorman Federation reached out to the federation for help. The Federation was happy to help them and sent many doctors. eventually the plagues were stopped and the Gorman Federation asked the Federation if they could join the Federation so that they could have the help of the Federation. The Federation was very willing to let this country join them. The Windward Sultanate was not so pleased, they worried that this would give the Federation a stepping stool in occupying more of the Middle East. With pressures mounting the Windward Sultanate pushed for the Gorman Federation to remain neutral. The Goramn Federation told the Windward Sultanate that it wasnt their right to demand they stay neutral. The Windward Sultanate responding a few weeks later two days before the Gorman Federation joined the Federation by declaring war.
At the start of the war the Windward Sultanate deployed 1,000 troops agains the Gorman Federations 700 Troops.
The Gorman Federation was able to hold the Windward Sultanate at bay for while until the Windward Sultanate sent its airships against the Gorman Federation who had no real airforce to combat them. The Gorman Federation began losing quickly and started losing ground quickly. The Gorman Federation pleaded with Federation to allow them to join the Federation so the Federatioon could sent their troops to join the war. The Federation had been staying back for awhile tryin to strike some type of peace between the two countries. But with peace seeming impossible the Federation agreed allowing the Gorman Federation to join the Federation and sending 5,000 troops and 1,000 planes to the Goprman Federation hoping that this would deter the Windward Sultanate and force them to make peace, It did not work the Windward Sultanate panicked and pushed hard to end the war before the Federation got their and failed the federation arrived and was forced to engage Windward Sultanate troops. With the Federation in the war the Windward began losing and started panicking as the Federation forces started getting close to the Windward Sultanates border. A Gorman Federation general went against orders and crossed the Windward Sultanate border. With Federation troops now on Sultanate soil the Empire who had been being pressured by the Windward Sultanate to join the war and stop the Federation from taking over the Windward Sultanate and with the equalists paying attention to the war looking for an opportunity to gain some land in the middle east the Empire decided to try to end the fight by joining in the war. The Empires gambit failed and the Gorman Federation continued to push its war and the Empire was forced to really comit to the war. The Empire sent 10,000 troops and 5,000 planes to the Windward Sultanate. The war came to head when the Federation had a crushing defeat at the city of Clumet where the city was forced to be leveled by Empire-Sultanate joint forces. Now that their was a hole in the Federation lines and the Windward Sultanate swept through obliterating anything in the way. The Windward Sultanate pushed to the Gorman Federations capital. The Windward Sultanates forces had overextened and were now encircled by Federation forces. The capital refused to surrender as they knew that they just had to hold on. The Windward Sultanate forces panicked and turned the capital into rubble and forced the Gorman Federations Leaders to surrender. Thus ended the war.
The Gorman Federation was barely a country anymore as the Windward Sultante had done incredible damage to everything in the country. The Empire made a peace with the Federation where they would give some help to the Gorman Federation but were never try to intergrate it again.
The Gorman Federation was never the same and is now just a wasteland of what it once was and the country is now made up of tribes that dont work together again.
