The Sea Father

Mythical head of the cult of the Sea Father found exclusively in the Isles.
Depictions of him within his Temple show him as a man above the waves and sea creature below. Bass reliefs show a Poseidon esc figure above the waves, and a kraken type monster below, of many tentacles and mouths.
His priests are solemn and humble, the wear coarse, durable robes that chaff their skin; they eat meagre meals and speak only when necessary. It is rare to see a priest leave the Temple of the Sea Father, although Father Myers, the head of the cult is often seen around the Isles and talking to passing merchants and sailors.

Personal history

Like the Sea, myths and stories about him are tumultuous and unpredictable. His anger is terrible and his love is eternal, with one hand he gives fish and salt, with the other he drags the tide out or pushes it far in.
Origin myths in the cult say he was first and foremost of the gods, allowing others to arise and firm islands and land were he did not want to control directly, that all answer to him just as the sea answers to no one.
