Okthor was once among the brightest shining of The Fey . their glory was great, and they were loyal to their creator, Argyllydd . However, once Argyllydd ordered the fey to watch over and guide the new species, The Humans, and the gnomes, Okthor became disillusioned with their lot. Humans and gnomes were imperfect creations, and the fey came first. Only the fey had the knowledge and power to properly rule this earth. They attempted to rally the fey to their side, but only some came. Those who remained loyal to Argyllydd had their powers stripped from them, leaving them crippled. Okthor gifted their followers some of the power they had stolen and led a rebellion against Argyllydd, in order that a true king could rule the world, ostensibly to better all peoples. After The Elves defeated them in the first war of the Ancients, Okthor retreated to the plane of reserve vivesi in the hopes of creating their own universe. The opening of various portals to the plane of vivesi during this time period caused it to be known as the age of shadows.  After being defeated during the climactic battle of vivesi, Okthor was imprisoned in the mountains of Maerak, sealed by several large stones of vivesi, preventing Okthor from possessing a physical body.  The knowledge of these stones' location was entrusted to The Circle of Kings , but the knowledge of the stones' fate and location were lost during The Purge of Arviera. Weakened considerably, Okthor slept for a very long time. After they awoke the most recent time period, they began working behind the scenes to retrieve their stones and consolidate their power over the Xayke.   NOTE: Okthor bears a special grudge against the elves, not only because they're the ones who beat him the most, but he considers them cheap copies of the fey. Work that in somehow.  NOTE: these stones of vivesi have already been broken by the time the Chronicles of Chaldea have begun.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

It is known to all that Okthor means to take over the world and rebuild it in his own image. The demons and the dragons believe that Argyllydd created the elves and stole the world from Okthor, who created it. The elves believe that Okthor means to steal the world from Argyllydd and remake it.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Okthor was among the Fey that were created by Argyllydd at the foundation of the world. During the Age of Secrets, Okthor was tasked, along with the other fey, to guide the younger species along their paths toward maturity and controlling the world. Okthor began their task without any ill-will, but after viewing the Humans, Gnomes, and later the Elves , decided that they were beneath their station. Okthor concluded that they were the only one worthy of ruling the world. Okthor rallied other fey to their cause, and attempted to destroy the rest by siphoning power off of them. The plan failed, but Okthor gifted their followers with access to the power that they had siphoned from the other fey. Little did any of Okthor's followers know that the magic gifted to them was corrupted, slowly changing them into what would be named Hellspawn. Okthor used these followers to lead an attack to gain control of the world, but was pushed back in the War of the Ancients that ended the Age of Secrets.  Okthor's Stones of Vivesi were taken from them, and Okthor was imprisoned in the Hell Wastes until their escape around the year 2350, when they escaped precipitating the 2nd war between the followers of Okthor and Argyllydd.  Okthor was imprisoned again, this time deep within the earth, where they remained until their escape a second time around the year 4500.  Okthor has been increasing their sphere of influence ever since.

Okthor believes that they are the only one worthy of ruling Chaldea, and all of their actions, morality and philosophy are subservient to that overarching goal. They believe that they are inherently superior to all other forms of life, and therefore, is the best candidate to rule the world. Okthor legitimately believes that this is best for everybody, despite all the harm that has already been caused.
