Yalserine Pie Fest

Yalsrine is a town along the coast of Efren with in the Slirene kingdom. There is a long tradition in the town of a verity of pies and other assorted treats. One to the leaders of the town thought it would be a good idea to have a festival celebrating the diversity of their pies. Many of the bakeries jumped on the idea. The pie fest committee was born. The committee quickly deiced on a name, Yalserine Pie fest, a date, a week at the end of the big harvest session. After the name and date was set they invited all bakers, young, old, home, and professional to bring their best pies for a contest of the best pie. The winner of that contest would have their pie be the office pie of Yalsrine for that year. Also the pie would be presented to the King and Queen of Slirene.   The whole festival was to take a week. It would be a week full of food, games, booths for people to sell their food themed goods, dances and banquets.   While the Pie fest committee were working out the details of the Yalserine Pie fest the rest of the town prepared. The Pie fest committee chair was chosen to go to the royal city and invite the royal family to the Yalserine fest and to confirm the prize for the winner.   The first year was successful and the first pie committee chair was so persuasive that the whole Slirene royal family attend the festival. With that success the fest continued on and has grown each year, including it is a very looked forward to trip for the royal family. The Yalserine Pie fest has become so big that bakers from all over the Slirene kingdom come to showcase their pies. There have even been some bakers from Zakido and Aeqular come.

History

The festival started shortly before Efren isolated themselves. It started as a way to pass time and encourage happiness during distressing times.
